Empty nest syndrome? ha! PLEASE, let me experience it!

I welcome it.

I blew that one. First one left for college followed by the second getting ready to leave and I thought "wow, young mothers get left behind." Soooo my oldest is 36 and my youngest will be 16 in May.

I have your's and mine and did once have the your's mine and ours. Between Bill and I our combo was 10, 6 of mine 4 of his, but I never leave out the 4 boys from before, so sometimes I say 14, usually 10.

We have 28 gkids between us, most are mine, but since grandpa is gone now, I get them all. Just never hear from the 2 oldest stepkids who I've never even met after all these years. Still, they count.

I know what you mean. The three year old isn't a baby any more. Love the babies! I would love to breed my 4 year old to a homozygous tobiano walker/SSH but I only have 5 stalls and I have 5 horses (planned it that way, some days I am greatful I did and some days I wish I had built a bigger barn!)

I hear you!! My horses rotate. I have found horses kept out walking like a real horse seldom have health issues. I will leave it vague so as to not invoke the "jinks" rule!! I have one mare that needs a little pain killer every 18 days or so, she gets in such pain, she lays down, rolls, then lays quiet. I feel so sorry for her. Of course being in foal cures all that!

Congrats!!!! How did you sex them !?!?!?!? I'm assumming their sames are EggA and EggB, or did you have the egg tissue tested?? I'm lost!

I sent in some of the membrane (with blood on it) to be DNA tested.

Hi All,

I have a question. If you have set eggs a day apart what would you do about lockdown? Should I put them all in lockdown on the date of the earlier ones or the day later ones?

What are your thoughts?

If it were me, I would stop turning when it was time to stop turning the later eggs. In fact, that is what I do. Go with your gut.

Your hen does look like Farrah. Your hen looks like she got her hair layered and then blow dried!
