Ok, I stayed away for a few days to mourn my "loss" after the incubator malfunction. Well the good news is despite being turned off for a day, there are still signs of life in the incubator. Got a text from my wife today saying one of my eggs had pipped. i had tried the cartons for the first time. This one pipped right at the edge of the carton. Because I had low expectations I didn't actually candle all the eggs. I am wondering if this is OK or if I should reach in through the vent hole and gently push this egg over onto it's side? Any thoughts?

you can see that the pip is just right at the level of the carton but low on the egg. Chick is trying to move toward zipping but is very low. Is it still OK? As long as I hear cheeping should I just leave it alone. I won't open the incubator but I could do a little of my own egg bowling through the vent. I'm inclined to leave it alone but maybe I need some encouragement. I am so thankful to finally see signs of life. Of course, I should have listened to everyone's advice and not gotten so bummed!!!
The pip is a swedish flower hen.
