I've had lots hatch today but I had to cull 2 quail. I did a quick open and grab to get them out. One had pulled it's intestines out and the other had serious leg issues. The rest in that bator are looking fine. The humidity iss way up there with all the chicks hatching. There is water on the windows but it reads 67% I don't know how many at this point that there are but there are 2 in the other bator which are from Hot2Pot, an ee and pr. Both are big and healthy looking. The ones in the other bator are mostly from my flock and some quail from the march swap and some paints from reesepoultry.

If you have water on the windows, your humidity is VERY high.

So I know I shouldn't keep blowing this thread up but, I'm excited, and kinda want to reach 10000 posts by tomorrow morning. Anyway, a lot of people here had pips in teh wrong end, well I have one smack dab in the middle of the big end. It pipped and just stopped. Bhep said that the EE's could possibly be NN too so I was hoping for one, this one is my last hope! I won't intervene...yet but Its awfully quiet. And I couldn't get on today so I PM'd about my look alike. Figure i'd post it here just for fun anyway.

that made me laugh, I came in from feeding and 1 chick (BCM) and a few pips no zipping that was about 9:30 Humidity in Brinsea was lower than expected add water...

Last two pips seem to be progressing now. No pips in the others. By the time I wake, I hope to have 33 chicks!

I'd call that a successful hatch!

THe waiting is so very difficult. No pips yet. I an worried that the early 104 degrees harmed the embryos; yet the last candling showed full eggs.

The waiting is killing me! All the second guessing!

mine did the 104 too. I have 1 chick and some pipping now 10;18

So...do quail or seramas sound different than chickens when hatching. I mean LF chickens. Because I keep hearing this high pitched, quieter peep and I am hoping its one or the other. I thought I saw a serama egg wiggle but then realized that Big Foot was pressing on an egg, 3 eggs away and could have wiggled it. *sigh clearly I need to go to bed. Less than 3 hours of sleep for 4 nights thanks to DS. But I had lots of coffee to keep me company.
