I ordered 6 chicks and they shipped out this morning
I'm getting email alerts on shipping location and all
Well question is can day old chicks survive in the mail 4 days because that's when it said they will arrive
It's got me a bit worried because cackle told me priority is 2 day shipping I never would order chicks if I knew it was going to take 4 days

Three days is the rule of thumb for how long chicks can go without food and, more importantly, water after hatching. That doesn't mean they're going to drop dead at 72 hours, but it's not what you want either.

The good news, as Ol Grey Mare says, is that there's a better than average chance that the Post office is wrong in their delivery estimate. I've been exactly where you are more than once, worried because the shipment was now scheduled to be two days late, just to have it show up right when it was originally scheduled.

I know it's going to be a scary couple of days for you, but it will probably work out.

When ordering chicks last week I came across a site it is called Valleyfarmshatchery.com
I really like these people, The price per chick is awesome, no hidden fees, they have calculated the cost of shipping in to the price of chicks and the guarantee live chicks!
They are NPIP!
I have been searching for a lavender Orpingtons for awhile and everyone wants at least $10.00 to $30.00 per bird, They are just $7.00 at this hatchery...
I hope your little feathered kids get to you safe and sound!

Thank you 17 chickens I'm gonna check out valley farms hatchery

You are welcome! I have to say that the Buff Orpington's were $2.50 each and that included shipping charges! Amber links $2.50 plus a whole bunch more! My babies will be here Thursday Morning I will take picture and show you...
