Maine chicken swaps 2010

Plus we have all the fair shows starting! This is one busy month. Skowhegan is first. Hope to see some of you guys there

I doubt I'll enter anything but we'll go to Windsor to check out all the entries. Most of my birds look awful, except for one blue silkie hen.

Laura, came home to find at least 2 new faces peeking out at me from under one of Ron Patterson's hens.

I won't be doing any fairs this yr unless it's a one day thing and the birds come home with me that night. guess I'm funny like that. I don't like to leave them or have them out of my sight.

Sarah was exactly like that when she first started. Until she saw how well they were cared for, plus we try to go everyday and help out while they are there and check on them, if one looks stressed or not looking right, they have no problems with you taking them home.

Ryan and I will no longer be taking our birds to poultry shows.

It's become a stressor on Ryan, too much stress on my birds and too much work for me considering the few rewards.

I've learned my lesson at the last show

hoppy, I saw your reply to my post in the for sale section for the splash Cochin/black Ameruacana chicks, but since it ended before I got to reply I never had a chance to...But if you're going to the swap/meet at TSC in Augusta this Saturday (14th), I'll be bringing some chicks there to sell!

Same prices; Pullets $10, roosters $8. Here's what we're planning to bring:

2 blue Cochin Easter Egger roosters
1 blue Cochin Easter Egger pullet

We have a total of 5 out of this batch of chicks (hatched and raised by a broody hen) and I want to keep at least 2 pullets, so that's what we have right now and also we may have some more later on...Let me know if you're interested in them and if you're going to the chickenstock this Saturday!

And also, about the chickenstock this Saturday (14th) in Augusta at TSC, is there any fee to participating? I've only gone to one chickenstock swap/meet and it was last year, a free-for-all event in Gardiner. So I'm not too sure how it all works.
