I think the further north you can come, the better. I think the Southern Maine folks could make it to the NH Chickenstock, and if you do a Chickenstock in Southern Maine, you'll probably get the same folks, and not too many Northern Maine folks. Scarborough is 4 1/2 hours from me, and I'm at the very southern part of Aroostook County.
Hi, it's kind of late but I thought I'd send a quick note. I just registered tonight on BackYardChickens. I happened to see the Chicken Stock bulletin on CraigsList and decided to check it out. We met some nice people, and learned about BackYardChickens.com - - - so glad we went and will be looking for to the next one and chatting on line with other poultry people.
Thanks for being so friendly !
some people from maine had to drive 3-4 hrs to get to that stock, i myself drove over an hour, i think looking at driving atleast an hour to get there is reasonable, so how many are more than an hour or so from scarborough?
i know nurse is, any others?>
We can have the Litchfield FairGrounds Sunday July 27. I have booked it. The guy was great he said he would let us in early in the AM and we could have it all day. Yahhhhhhhhh

Oxford County fair grounds costs bucks tho. The woman that accepts activities at the fair grounds is a B..... I had hoped to have gotten one with the Lions Club auto and tractor show, it would have been so cool, but a negative on that due to cost.
Bob and I made a weekend of it- with a lot of planning, ie, 2 days of water, feed and catfood so my mom didn't have to do anything other then collect eggs and lock the big girls in.
I sorta liked the horse trailer idea, lol! Load 'em all in and drive!
I am fighting with the photos I took in Milford, NH. I hope its just a buncha crap from my provider, so I'll try again.
I am looking forward to the next event. Does anyone want to join in on the Farmington, Maine event with the New England Bird Fanciers Club? Did everyone get the messege about it?
spook, can you give me the date and time of the bird fancier event?
july and aug.are both scary months. traveling birds in the heat is a dangerous idea, you take your chances, so i will wait and watch the weather, then decide on coming. but i encourage you all, if you can go to go, its a lot of fun, just dont bring your birds if the weather is going to be high, heat and stress not a good combination!!
