maine swap may 21, augusta TSC

Hello:D I've never posted on here before but I'm hoping I chose the right thread. I will be going to the swap in Augusta on saturday and have one lone Buff Orpington pullet I'd like to sell or trade.

I'm hoping to meet up with someone in particular, a woman with silkies and BLRs. I'm hoping to pick up a few silkie chicks:) Yea!!! I have a handful of 4 week old pullets now, 2 ameraucanas (one with a horribly deformed beak-sad baby), 1 Columbian Wyandotte, and 3 Buff Orpingtons. I'm on the outskitrs of the city and had to get a livestock permit for my chickens, I limited myself to 12. Hence the reason I'd like to trade/sell my lone buff orpington. I can only have so many and I want more variety. I'd bring her if I knew she was headed to a good home. All my girls are store bought, handled daily, and are getting great feather!

I know it's odd, just one little hen, but I'd really like more color in my coop. I'd like $6 for her if not doing a trade. Let me know, thanks!

I remembered this morning that I have a meeting for 4-H on Sunday, so looks like I wont be going to mass. That means I will be going to to the chickenstock! As much as I don't need more chicks and really need laying hens, I might look into some more silkie chicks. I have a broody that failed to hatch any eggs because they probably were not fertilized. I gave her more to give her another go which are due this weekend I'd like to offer her some chicks to raise to get her to stop trying to hatch. I'll have a back up brooder though if she hatches her own or doesn't accept other chicks.
Looks like I need to put the door back on the coop divider because I have a feeling I'll be bringing home some hens too...

Just to clarify....are you just selling the chicks or are you also selling the mothers with them? When is the hatch date (for the turkens)?

Was not really looking for any particular breed of goat. Just had been thinking about it quite a bit and my husband couldn't get mad @ whatever I wanted to bring home because next week is my birthday. That was before what happened today though. Came home from picking the kids up @ school to 4 dead hens. Domestic dog attack. I am really devastated. So I'm sure I don't want to take on any goats right now. I don't even know if I want to replace the girls. Too sad. Eyes keep welling up and have lump in throat. They were really sweet.
