Maine Swaps 2011

ok, maybe someone else has the time for this......
I have a tolbunt polish baby, I am thinking pullet, she is so sweet and shy. She got stepped on by a brahma, same age, a few weeks ago. I didn't realize the density difference in the two breeds

(first experience with brahma and limited with polish) I had her in a chair but it seemed to make things worse. she is in with some bantams and she wobbles all over and shakes a lot. she is skinny. she really needs someone that can rehab her...I still think it's possible but with everything going on here with the kids I don't have the time. I think if she got some extra vitamins, food and support she will do fine in a pet setting. I just don't have the time and it seems like such a waste to cull her, besides dh hates to cull unless it is the last option. She spends a bit of time on her hocks, but since she is a light breed I think she can recover enough...
so, does anyone want this 12 week old tolbunt?? please???

Wow, you're having some bad luck lately! Are the Coros improving?

I'm sure you won't have a problem placing a special needs Tolbunt chick, either pullet or cockerel!

yep, coros look great, they are separated in two cages but can see each other, if they spend too much time with each other they get a bit too curious about each others wounds

. the one I thought was a cockeral is 10 weeks old(think I had wrong date last time) and still not red in the comb or wattles

. could the injury set back that development? i will have to post new pics of them soon....the one I glued looks good too, actually looked better.
dh was supposed to build me new brooders, the polish got hurt before he completed the first one, got behind schedule

. The sussex was because I wasn't proactive enough about getting rid of the games...didn't know they got aggressive so young....you live, you learn

I could take in your Polish and try and help. I have 4 polish that are about 6 weeks old give or take, I had to help one of those ones out. I had to make chick shoes and seperate her for a while, but now shes back with them, one foot completley better the other almost 100% too.
Is she just weak and needs help eating or is something wrong with her legs that can be corrected and fixed? I will help if you still need someone too. Just pm me and we can arrange something.

k, maybe I was wrong lol....took them out today so they could hang together.... they are getting along so far....marks aren't too noticible now. 10 weeks old

overcast and rainy, bad pics, but what I got...
pullet? eta- feathers look spiky cuz when I glued together...hopefully relaxes over time.....

Hey you guys that make the grain bag totes, do you need more grain bags? Thought about that today as I was about to throw one away, thought maybe someone could use them, we have several a week and can bring them to a swap if someone wants to use them just let me know.

If you are giving them away, I would gladly take some!

How about ones for birdseed? I use blue seal feed which is still in the paper bags, but I do feed them BOSS which comes in a plastic type bag. I use way more in the winter than summer, but I hate to see anything go to the dump.

Yes, giving them. Will save them and bring some to Skowhegan, probably won't be too many for this swap but will save them, have different kinds.
