I'm selling very few pullets and keeping most of my hatches to grow out.

Longhorn in Buxton is offering five to six month old pullets for $10 ea. No idea on the breeds. Or if they have any left.

929-6600 is the number for Longhorn. They are open tomorrow from 9-Noon. Weekdays the hours are 9-6. Hope they still have some left for you.

I have heard that Longhorns is the place to get grain delivered from too. I have not used them or know anything about them. The Oxford event went well, small group and lots of people in and out, as soon as they drove in, people bought spot on and carried the birds away. One trio of Guinea hens went before the crate was set on the ground. We did sell 5 9ish week old brahma chicks for a guy, we put them in a kennel, boom, they were gone. Hard to believe this is a constant, regardless to how many are selling, showing - I had a few wanting to buy Scooter & girls at the Lewiston event! Gesh, never needed security before (LOL). At the Lewiston event, we had standard Cochin roo, hen and barred rock hen in the pen, waiting for TSC to open for grain and feed, they were sold prior to being made comfy. The couple was looking for more layers at Oxfords event.


We are having a Poultry Care Clinic at the Oxford Tractor Supply Co. next Sunday May 22 from 9:30 am- 10:30 am or longer if folks have more questions. Basically how to clip beak, nails and remove spurs. Also what you should have in your poultry medicine cabinet for emergencies and a bit about bio-security. We even have guest poultry!

Plus, everyone is yelling for more, longer bigger social event so we are having one more Chickenstock in Oxford at the TSC, Saturday August 13 8am-2pm. I'd like to think we could hatch out chicks (layers) soon so to have them started by August.

Anyways, I'm thinking the next swap we will be able to make will be Lewiston in June, and the following weekend in skowhegan. But I am VERY tempted to show up at Augusta

But we have just too many things going on between the baby shower, getting the gardens in, and barn projects! I have 2 litters of bunnies due in the next 2 weeks, a broody hen with 18 eggs due to hatch next week ( as long as she did her job), and an incubator with ducks, chicken, and bantam eggs due june 1st!

I will bring any ducklings/chicks that haven't been sold prior.

If I have time, I will also be working on feather earrings and goats milk soap to bring to that swap. Also will probably have some herbs, potted herbs and flowers, and vegetable container gardens to bring as well. Hatching eggs also available with prior notice.

Hey guys!

I was just wondering if any of you were going to the June 11th swap at the TSC in Lewiston? I planning on going! I had so much fun at the first one, and I got an incubator! I am so excited! I set 21 eggs and they are due to hatch 4 days prior to the swap, so I will be bringing them! If anyone is interested let me know... I will bring them anyways, but it would be good to know that atleast ONE person wants chicks! I have Golden Comet (GSL) hens, BO hens, and BO roosters, so their would be a small chance of getting pure BO's, but most will be RSL X BO... An exellent layer if I may say so myself! I let a broody hen hatch some last fall (before the BO's came) and ended up with just one chick... But, boy, she is a greata egg layer, without all of the egg problems and showing good signs of being a mommy!

Anyway, that is all for now... Let me know if y'all are coming!

Oh, Cranberry Creek Farm... I noticed in your siggy that it says that you have nubian cross bucklings... They wouldn't happen to be the two from the first swap would it? They were adorable!
