Maine Swaps 2011

I will say, I am getting lots of calls regarding where is the next swap. of course everyone is looking for pullets and I have to tell them, they probably will have to start with younger since it's kind of late in season that they are looking. my oldest chicks are 4 weeks old and I've been hatching for 13 weeks. once they hit a certain age, they fly out the door. although I have these 3 bantam blue wyandottes and no interest. certainly are very cute. maybe I will just keep them to go with this other set of bantam wyandottes I'm hatching out.

out of curiosity...what color calls and runners do you have?

Sadly to say none right now after the last predator attack. She just got some more white runner eggs from the breeder that got her started with them before.

I have some blue splash and silver runners due to hatch june 24th if you would like some more.

And hoppy - Dont say bantams....I love the 2 that I have but hubby....not so much

The Lewiston event was wonderful, a lot of adult layers, many 8 week olds and chicks. Gave 2 more rooster away, and Scooter was his usual sweet self. We sent a couple of people up towards the Wilton event as we did not have any bantams for sale.

It was wonderful to meet new friends, visit with old friends and just find that we all love our birds! We did not have any goats, sheep or critters, and there is a man this side of the world who raises meat rabbits and fawn runner ducks.

July Scooter will be joining Bob Stano in Sanford, we will be putting on a demonstration and then we will be back for a end of season event in Oxford!!! Hope to see folks there, if not, have a wonderful summer.

I did sell nine bantams at Wilton - four to a nice couple who I believe might have been sent our way!

I have plenty still growing - d'Uccles and bantam cochins.

Thank you Kelli

No, I'm not going to do another one in Lewiston. If ANYONE would like to do more, I will gladly paint up the sign and deliver it!

Watch your D's closely, at 3 months they can develop that nasty 5 letter illness that starts with a M. All of us D'uccle folks are dealing with it.
