I just looked up from my computer to see my cat standing outside on the window sill. Not at all unusual, b/c he spends his day asking to go in and out. But, he was not able to meow for my attention... he had a HUGE mouse hanging out of his mouth. I think this was the same mouse my chickens gave chase to yesterday afternoon. Between the 5 of them and myself, we could not catch it! Perhaps I need to get some Buckeyes next year!

Yeah, 85 on the weekend, 4 hours of snow the next day then open up the doors the next day! I really didn't believe it when dh said it was going to snow then he said it wouldn't stick.

Ok here I am again in lock down. Fingers crossed for a successful hatch.

Having trouble with brooder temps! 100 under the lamp--raised lamp maybe an inch drops to 80!

Lowered lamp just a hair and repositioned thermometer closer to chicks sleeping under Not The Mama feather duster. Need to recheck before bed. Chicks had scrambled egg for breakfast. They were like Eh. They're getting FF for breakfast tomorrow. They've had electrolytes in their water for the last 2 day. Tonight they have UN/ACV in the water tonight. I've got 2 PRs, 3 BRs, 2 Columbian Wyandottes, 2 BAs and 8 meat birds. I had 3 with a little pasty butt--not bad but they did get baths with a little coconut oil on their butts afterwards. One of the BAs is a little girl. She fell asleep wrapped in a towel after her bath.
