I have 2 Rhode Island Red named Rose & Amber, 2 Buff Orpington named Anna & Elsa, 2 Araucana named Batman & Quiggly, 1 Barred Rock named Black Canary & 1 Hubbard Gold Comet named Magnus Bane.

Had to chase that dog . Question: do the feathers grow back?

That's awful that the dog keeps coming over. I liked Hoppy's idea a long time ago of shooting it with a paintball gun!

The feathers will grow back when the hen molts. Maybe they grow back before then, but I don't think so. The hens will definitely stop or slow laying for a bit if they suffered some trauma. Good luck with them!

Heatherschix you made me think: maybe they don't know ! I will ask them to come over and see the harm that comes to the chickens and if they see it for themselves, maybe they will understand. In the meantime I will start modifying the run tomorrow

I would invite them over to see the damage, and casually mention that if the dog shows up on your property again, you'll be calling Animal Control Officer. No one should have to put up with a predator injuring their pets, especially if that predator is wearing a collar.
