Thanks to all who weighed in on the leg mite issue. Hopefully, the olive oil with oregano essential oil drops will start to turn it around. Will try a good rub with bag balm on their legs for the whole flock (16 birds) on Saturday when my helper will be here. I'll treat the ones with no symptoms just to make sure. I feel bad enough with all the cold without them having to put up with creepy crawlies as well.

Yes, you have to treat everyone. They all have it, even if not showing symptoms.

My girls have loved some short range time the last 2 days. Most of that nasty white stuff has melted so they'll venture further than the runs.

Thank you everyone! My Mum is so talented! She just took this up a few months ago. It's been good for her since my brother passed. It also gets her out of the house since there is a group of them. She told me one day she was out hooking when I called and left her a message. I said Ma I don't want to know how you're making extra Christmas money!!

Ivermectin paste can be consumed by humans and is actually presribed to humans to treat worms/other parasites under a different name that starts with an m. I read articles about it when I was looking up herbal detox and Ivermectin kept popping up between clove tea recipes. Watt Poultry (geared towards commercial business but I like to keep UTD on how groceries are being raised) has had many articles on antibiotics used in poultry that the commercial companies have to phase out due to new laws enacted to maintain enough of the same antibiotics that are used in humans. Did yall realize some of the very same antibiotics for animals are given to humans at a very much higher price? My dh thought I was nuts when I said I could go buy an antibiotic shot from the feed store using hog dosages and it would be the EXACT same as paying hundreds to see a dr then pay more money at the pharmacy. Exact same thing.
