Would it still concentrate in tissue given orally? I know orally they are absorbing 50% of dose. I have read so many articles but don't see what I am looking for. I will keep looking. I also sent a PM to another member that seems to know alot about the drug.

I didn't realize at first this post made it sound like second guessed anyone. Believe me it weren't intended too. I just can't find the info I'm trying to on Google or on here. I did find for the water soluble withdrawal is a day. Injectable a week. But not oral.

Hi diana507,

I'm sure no one here took any offense. That's what this community is all about...ya know 2 heads are better than 1. The lovely people on this thread have helped me through many chicken issues! I am so grateful to them! We've laughed & cried together. What's great about BYC is the collective knowledge. Often times someone has already gone through or is going through something similar. It helps to know you're not alone!

I do hope your girl is feeling better soon! I like to add a little oregano & garlic to the feed when mine are under the weather.

My disclaimer: while I'm a pharmacist in real life, I'm not a veterinarian, nor do I play one on TV. I do not give my birds oral or injectable antibiotics and personally care a lot less about potential drug exposures through eggs/meat than most people likely would.

I'd rather lead you to what information you're looking for and have you make the call based upon the information you find and what your personal thoughts/beliefs/goals are.

I found a new rat tunnel today  . It is right at the end of the last piece of hardware cloth I installed. It took them 5 weeks to work their way through to the end. I planned to go around the whole coop eventually, but thought I'd done enough for this year. I'm considering digging tomorrow.....

When I was installing my skirt (1" CW, cause that's all that's in the budget) I found a hole that hopefully belonged to a squirrel. If not... well, the battle has begun for me here, as well. I have about 30' left to go, but found it to be just too cold and nasty to work outside since mid-week. Doesn't help that I have a sick kid here now. She's hacking all night, and I'm poking the meds into her around the clock, so energy level even lower than normal. So, the remainder of my skirt may have to wait till spring. I do need to get it back filled, the part that's skirted but not filled. Assuming it doesn't freeze solid between now and then...
