Maine

My chickens won't go in their totally covered dry run if they can see snow on the ground outside. I put their food and water in the run this year, just to get them to venture out there.

First cross-country ski yesterday! Snow was perfect.

NWS says on Friday we will have the coldest air mass on the planet.

That's funny, b/c Accuweather forecasts are for seasonably mild all the way through the winter.

I ordered chicks yesterday for mid April delivery. Getting a nice mix of birds that should provide some black and red sex links. Jack needs to start doing his job, if he wants to stay around long enough to participate in that plan.

Jerks.

Specific sub breed include pure nubian and lamancha/olberhasli cross.

Ha! They really are little devils. The trouble they can get in, in no time at all mind you, is unbelievable. Mine are nigerian dwarf... stocky little boys barely as high as my knees, but somehow 70 lbs.

What kind of feeder is that in the shed? Looks like a plastic tote. I'm getting 2 Nigerian Dearfs next Summer. A Doe and a Wether to start. Doing all of my research now... I digress. This is a chicken forum. Sorry.
