I was in TSC in waterville yesterday, they are working with the city to see if we can do swaps here or not. it might take them putting up a fence in the parking lot so if that's what has to happen, we may have to skip that TSC. it was discussed doing sunday swaps there only due to them having to share the parking lot with the other stores.
first augusta swap is scheduled for april 28th but if the weather warms up, maybe we can start sooner, I know I'm ready!
lots of chicks.

Hoppy where are they putting the TSC farm day listing on this new format --- I'm sooooooo lost in here now :( I have set up the first date for TSC to be April 1st we will be doing the farm day the first sunday of every month again at TSC in Wilton -- I herd from Louise that there was interest in having one in march -- I think it will be tooo cold still - but -- if not and anyone wants to set up in march it's the 1st. sunday of the month !!! Can't wait !!! When is the first TSC day in augusta ? Has anyone thought about one in Waterville ? Well hope all is well in everyones part of the world :) ~~~~ Tammy

Yes sorry I forgot to include --- we'll start around 9am -- and end around 2pm ---- as always you can come early and leave later if you like :) I am very excited to get started myself with TSC farm days !!!! Yea spring has almost sprung !!! ~~~~ Tammy

Finally my Saxony has decided to lay eggs :). Of course she hasn't decided where the best spot is to lay her eggs so I have to hunt for them. But at least I now have fresh duck eggs every other day or so for baking. And the EE hen is again laying after taking a month off. She at least usually lays in the same spot.

And I just learned the estimated opening date for the Windham TSC is March 3 with the grand opening set for March 17th.

My chickens are loving this weather! So nice to have the chance to let them have full days in the sun :)

I am so excited for the TSC to open in Windham. Anyone planning on doing swaps there?

To the others in Maine, one of my females is sitting on 19 eggs. She started sitting about 4 days ago. Keeping in mind the weather we have and may have, do you think any will survive and hatch? Will the survive after they hatch or should I bring them in for a couple months?

Momma will take care of them. I've had them hatch out in the coop in sub-freezing temps and there were no chicksickles. 19 eggs sounds like a bit much though not only to cover fully but also to keep warm once they hatch and start growing. I'd probably give her no more than 7 if she were mine.
