Should we start a Chickens Anonymous group ?

welp, out of the 7 eggs that were in lock down 4 of them hatched. not too shabby. we got a bunch more in the bator going into lock down sunday night and setting a new batch that we got in the mail. the batch we got in the mail came with a free "mystery" egg. the egg is a duck egg. and the coop expansion project has turned into just building a whole new coop and setting it next to our existing coop. the idea is they can use what ever coop they want, i'll probably cut a square whole out of the sides that are against each other and use some strapping to seal the gaps so they can commute back and forth between the coops with out having to go outside.

So, the Hubby wasn't as upset as I thought he would be when he found out that I got more chickens yesterday. He said he didn't want a show chicken, but if I'm happy, then it's ok.

I love getting chickens from Hoppy. They're always so nice.

Sort of off topic question here...
I am looking for someone to machine quilt a few quilts I am working on. I had a woman who did them before I moved, but Acton, Ma. is pretty far to drive.
I am just looking for simple designs, and am willing to pay a reasonable fee, but I would feel a lot more comfortable handing my hard work to someone I had a reference for.

Thanks.

thank you. (and you probably could show that silky)

I bought just one bird at the swap, it is supposed to be a cuckoo marans, which I was told was supposed to lay a dark egg, the guy said he thought she was not laying yet but the rest of the hens had started to. She is laying for sure, cause I have her in quarantine and she has a regular brown egg. OH, well, another laying hen in the flock. You live, you learn then you read up on things, LOL.
I also picked up my pair of geese yesterday, embdens. I think they will be Gertie and Grumpy.
