Just ordered a bunch of rare breed chicks but don't think I'm going to keep them ALL if there's any interestI have salmon faverolles, mottled javas and light brahmas
it was so interesting and intertaining, makes ya wonder what animals do that we never see.Cool rooster story, Paulajon!
That is one thing I love about chickens, - just watching all those types of interactions and ways they communicate. It seems like I learn something new every week.
Which makes me wonder if other animals do these cool things and I just don't notice, or if it has to do more with a flock mentality, or what. I mean, it doesn't seem like watching a herd of cows would be quite so interesting, but I've never done that (at least not for more than a few minutes!).
Thanks, He came after me twice , he's just turning a yr. old. the first time i used a plastic snow shovel and just kept pushing him back and making him go where I wanted him to go I did this till he was tottally worn out and exhausted. the second time he came after me I did the same thing and he gave in really quick. so far so good, he follows me sometimes looking for food, I was sitting in a lawn chair today and he came over and stood by me for awhile. he will come to me if I call him, or the girls so I'm hoping that he will be a good boy. He has an awesome personality and is amusing to watch. He is a really smart rooster and hopefully we now have an understanding lol......This is one of the coolest stories I have read about a rooster. I watched mine making sure he brought food to his favorite hen and guarding her in little circles while she ate but not giving 'flowers' so to speak. That is pretty great. How is he with you?
Have a dozen Black Copper Hatching eggs if any one is interested, $15.
