You're right about the rest of the pack! We heard of a pack attacking & killing a Lab in it's own backyard in Pittson a few months ago.
I've heard them running down a deer while I was camping. Eery and enthtralling. I do not want them here for long but I admire them. I have never heard that they would harm your dog. How sad for the owner. I have heard that Red Eye machines do work to keep them at bay.

Edited to add that I didn't see the above picture when I was posting.... wish I hadn't this time either.

Chicks are now 4 weeks old. They love to be outside! They certainly listen when the roo gives the warning call!

This is Chipmunk.

They are getting big! I was just thinking about asking how they were doing! It looks like Pitch does not have any barring...of maybe it's just the photo....I wonder who her momma could be!

As far as egg swap, I've got eggs, they are just all mixes, but as you can see from the above photos, sure to be cute!

Lazygardener- I love the ducktruck idea lol Mine was the cluck truck a while back... and then there was Cluckendales (a cockerel rental business)...Meet and greet, trade and talk... not sure who is interested or where you all are but if a pm could be sent by those who are interested I could start to make some sense of what days would work well, who has what or wants what and then figure out where. I don't think I want to get into a big chickenstock this year right now. Maybe I will change my mind in time. Bucka would be required to send on some more fish :) Those were awesome.

No, no! The fish were made by Brindlebtch! She shipped them all the way from Texas. They ARE awesome. I have one in my yard and love watching it spin in the wind. I made the other smaller metal sculptures.

I debated a long time whether to buy a fish. I had sold a monkey, so I had a pile of cash in my hand and that made the decision for me. Now I am so glad I got one. We've had it up all winter and it is nice to see the cheery color and watch it spin.

We still haven't gotten our fox. Kept the ducks in for about 2 weeks until I (and they) couldn't take it anymore. I figure if the fox comes back it'll help by either reducing the number of males I have or getting rid of the lone female that the boys are fighting over. Ah, it's starting to look like spring.

Those who keep bees - do you have Italian or Russian or a different type? Where did you buy your bees from?

My mom and I have Carniolians (I think that is how you spell it) at our houses, and we get them from Swan's in Albion. The Italians my mom had we so aggressive that we couldn't go near the hive w/ out them swarming. The Carniolians are a lot more calm and easy going.
