This is great to hear from these swaps. Regardless to who you spoke with, bought from, its great to know that the events have made a difference. Don't forget the August 13 (sat) event in Oxford (8 am - 2 pm).

Only bad thing is that my kids want a peacock now!! Well I wouldn't mind having one too but I'll blame it on my kids. There was a couple at the sale with peacock feathers. We started with Chickens three years ago, and we decided to get into ducks this year so we bought 4 mallard ducks from TSC and it was going well, till they flew away this week...

luckaly last weekend we bought two Indian Runner ducks so my kids aren't completely heart broken about their ducks. I did atleast warn them about getting the mallards. Now we will stick to ones that wont hopefully fly away!!

They do have 1 peacock, I am not sure about a hen, for some reason, I've never noticed one at his farm. If you want his information PM me and I can give you his email or land phone number.

As for vermin, personally, I'd slip with the gun...but in town/city call animal control. Good luck!

We let them free range but they don't leave the coop or run at all. We have been watching them and they stay in the run. It seems strange to me that they can go as they wish but they don't. The only one that left the coop and run is the Araucana, she slept in a tree 2 nights in a row then she came back to the coop and hasn't left since.

No, they were laying the day before, I collected the eggs myself. She was reducing her flock cause she had too many eggs and not enough time to keep up with them. They are 14 months old, they should still be laying at least every couple days. It probably a stress factor, they got moved from one established flock to an entirely new established flock. Time will tell I haven't given up on them yet LOL

I would try feeding some wet mash, warm water poured over a cup of grain, toss in some cut up grapes, yogurt, cooked oatmeal. Sounds gross, and keep them closed into their coop with the ability to go out into their run. Sometimes a change in food and water can bother some birds, folks at shows will often bring their own water and grain. They could have been eating mash, crumbles or pellets and it could make a difference.

Hello all!
Off topic and I appologize, just wondering if anyone in the windham/raymond area has cinder blocks they are looking to sell? I need about 50 by friday evening:) pm me if you do!

Thanks for the tips on the chickens. I've got them locked in the coop/ run. The food is the same as what they were eating, she gave me some of hers when I got them. I know a lot about these chickens because the were my aunts. I think it's still stress from the move though. I'll keep you posted when they start producing eggs again.
