Still not sure if I can make the 21st. I'm not real comfortable in groups thanks to my Asperger's. And two of my dogs have to come (staying in the car of course). About the only thing I would have to offer right now is plenty of horse manure compost. I could fill up the back of the truck and people could take what they want.

Of course TSC had some fuzzy butts for sale. And they were on sale to boot. Buy 3 get 3 free. I ended up with six Tetra Tint straight run chicks. They had already been marked down to $.99 ea and with the sale I got them for $.50 ea. I would guess they are around two to three weeks old so just past the really cute stage. Looks like I may have four pullets and two roos. The Pekin ducks were also on sale. They were down to $1.79 ea so they would be $.90 ea with the buy 3 get 3 free sale. I didn't pick any up since I really don't need any but if someone is interested I will be in that area tomorrow and could get some to bring on the 21st. (See that is one way to make me have to go

Well, this isn't a beauty pageant with graded questions and right now its going to be a small gathering not so much a crowd. We can be awkward together :) Whatever gets you here. I feel like Kinsey right now. That price is tough to turn down. Duck tastes so good. I am not eating any manure but some is certainly welcome here. The chickens would love it!

Sorry you are still struggling with the state issue and the horses. Maybe you could get a run in that can be reskinned to double as a greenhouse?? What about CL or online?? Mardens?
Hello, a friend of mine put 2 chickens in with her original 4 and they attacked one of he new ones and she has a gash from her ribs to her vent, what can she do?

She can isolate the injured bird in a warm, draft free area and give it a little oral antibiotics or she can put on topical till its wounds are knitted, then put on bluekote and put her back with the chicken she came with but NOT the others who beat her up.

The new noisy duo. This is quarantine till I get their fencing finished. I did get posts in but no wire up yet. I could use a bale of straw for them. Just lost my 'purse' diaper bag so that may need to wait a week.

Congratulations on the hatch, kinsey!

SCG, the straitjackets are funny! I made an assumption that you were making them for work. I used to work in a geriatric hospital/mental institution, and we had a woman who had to be jacketed to her chair. Every time I walked by her, she would ask me for a pair of scissors.

Ashandvine, those geese are pretty!

I had a busy day cleaning out the back portion of my coop where the chicks will go. New shavings, a practice roost, a ramp up to the adult roost. I even washed the poop boards, which was a nasty job. They are going out tomorrow, as new chicks will be arriving next weekend. I'll need to clean up the brooder tomorrow. I hope to finish the jail over vacation, so the roosters can eventually be moved there.

Nah - they've done away with them, years ago, thankfully. We still have various levels of soft restraints, but hardly ever use them... and certainly wouldn't be asking *me* to provide them.

Just a novelty item.
