This spring I broke down and got an incubator. I set it up for a few days and got the temp and humidty stable and then excitedly loaded it up, 41 eggs.
Most of the eggs were a cross with my pretty Blue Wheaten Ameracuana Roo, a half dozen were a cross between a production red and a buff orpington roo, and about 8 muscovy eggs.
I kept candling and they all looked identical except for the duck eggs, never having candled before I was not sure what I was looking at so I kept being patient, and kept being patient.
How can two roosters both be duds instead of studs? Not one fertile chicken egg in the lot!

The muscovy eggs are doing fine and I can see movement in them.
....so anyone have a nice Ameracauna Roo they would like to part with?
Now that it has stopped raining I m going to go take the feather kids out to play in their pen. They are too big to be keeping in the house anymore, but it is still too cool to leave them out at night. Warmer weather where are you? I am all for not having to tote chickens and plants in and out every day.
See some of yas tommorrow at the CMBF meeting.

OK, Apparently only one dud rooster, the dark brown eggs I could not candle I left in the incubator, I just came inside to find a newborn chick. My first baby!
