Maine

Quote: Almost no one wants bantams either. Unless you want to sell them for $5.00. Been there, done that.

Except for silkies

Everyone loves silkies.

What they want is big birds that will lay big eggs. And started birds that they think will lay big eggs SOON.
Not roosters, because they crow. Cockerels and roosters are ....

So bring hens or pullets. Cull the cockerels, unless you want to keep them for breeding or for shows.

That's amazing! I can make them turn green or blue or red, that's about it... I can't even begin to conceive of how to begin carving them; wonderful talent!

my son now has the flu, so much for getting the flu shot 10 days ago. he doesn't have a fever, low temp and puking and a rash that comes and goes, going to have to keep a close eye tonight and hope he;s better in the morning.

I just increased my hatching egg order to 30 eggs :) , although It means I have to delay shipment for a week. It looks like I'll be setting eggs on Valentine's day.

I'm really looking forward to a break in this weather. 18 below here this a.m. and chicken chores were not any fun.

Hope your son is feeling better soon! I know I'd rather be sick myself than have the kids be sick.

Ugh, have you ever tried Oscillococcinum? It is a homeopathic flu "remedy". My chiropractor swears by it. I know you can purchase it at any drugstore /health food store. I think it's worse when it's one of the kids, you feel so helpless to make them better. Take care.
