Someone in Tamworth NH is selling some Marans and BLRW on Craigslist. Both breeds I would like to have :D anyone know about the quality of em?

Widget. Downton is awesome. My husband and I watched it obsessively before it even aired in America!

I find myself watching more British shows now than American shows. Love BBC America. And thank goodness for Netflix so I can watch shows I've missed.

The Target brand of the under pads is just as bad as the ones from WrongAid. So far the WalMart ones are the best. The brand is Assurance.

Our chicks keep knocking the water over in their brooder, and it stinks. We're going back to the pads, today. I think I might try to sew some reusable ones this summer, so I can just wash and dry and reuse. Similar to the "paper towels" that I want to do.

You just gave me an idea, SCG. Why couldn't I just use old towels? I have a bunch of old towels that I used on furniture and things when our geriatric cat was still alive. I washed them, and intended to bring them to the humane society at some point. I think there might be enough that I could cover the brooder floor twice, so I could swap them out while one set was being washed.

I put my chick water on a brick, and close to the brooder wall. I think they've only knocked it over once that way.

Ashandvine, I've been talking to my eggs too, but mostly by making chicken noises at them. Hopefully no one slips into the house while I am doing this! :p

I have a friend that likes downton abbey, but I don't even have a tv, so I am totally clueless.
