Maine

All chickens adult or chicks raised here are gone save three that are for butchering/freezer. It is only a small comfort that we have chicks/eggs here from outside stock. The next tough step is all the cleaning: burning parts that can't be cleaned and cleaning everything else, lyme on the ground and manure piles and then letting it rest for as many weeks as I can. Thankfully we do have a dog house coop that's never been used for chickens so we will start out with but that is waiting to be moved and fenced in as well as retro fitted with a roost, boxes etc. I say all this so anyone else who chooses or is forced to start over like this knows that culling isn't the only hard step, just the first.

This is an important link to anyone who wants to get an idea of what of the things going on in NH is and I am pretty sure I saw a bird with it at a swap recently so.... read up!

your tracphone uses towers that are avialable (they have contracts with all the big carriers, they say) so your tracphone may be hit or miss just as other companies in the area.
I made homemade pb oreos, big hit at the swap but really needed a glass of milk to go with them.

Another question for all. This one certainly NCR. Anyone have T-Mobile as their cell carrier? I can get a really good discount with them through my employer. AT+T and Verizon are also on the list but even with a discount they still are a bit more than I want to spend. From what I understand in the Portland area T-Mobile is okay. Out my way it wouldn't be any worse than what I have now with Tracfone. And it would be hit or miss in the rest of the state especially in more rural areas. But T-Mobile is looking to expand its services so while it may not be great around here now it should improve.

I got swallowed by mattress shopping and way behind on the thread!

Grilled pizza is really good. In late summer, you can grill the tomatoes for the sauce, and grill a bunch of vegetables for topping.

We also love grilled bread. Roll the bread dough thin, put on a bunch of olive oil and grill.

Happy to hear strawberry season has arrived.

WOW this is scary stuff.....

Glad someone is reading it. If you see repeated sneezing or the eye foam, hear asthmatic breathing esp after they run or asthmatic or gurgly/wet crowing you can assume its this for now because it is so prevalent in NH and Maine right now.

From my experience Tracfone has the best signal anywhere. They use other towers. If you dont get a signal with Tracfone you probably wont get signal with anyone else either. The next best in Maine seems to be USCellular. that is who I use and there are bound to be pockets of no signal with any carrier in Maine due to the vast area and people not wanting a cell phone tower in their backyard. Just my thoughts.

I've used Tracfone for many years. For the price it is great but the phones leave alot to be desired. I need one with a few more options. My thought is to keep the Tracfone and port my home number over to a smartphone. The Tracfone is cheap enough to have around. Between the two I should get some sort of signal.

I just got a new tracphone, and it's a much smarter phone then I had, you should see the new options.
