Maine

Serina, the pit bull has spent the past five minutes trying to figure out how to reclaim a spot on the couch. Whining at me has not worked. Staring at the other dogs had no effect. Somehow getting up onto the back of the couch and trying to find an empty spot was a failure. Finally one of the other dogs got off so Serina was able to grab his spot. Now Loki, the one who got off, wants his spot back. I think I need a bigger couch.

I am far too excited over this, but I found a huge egg in the nest box today! It's so big the carton won't close. Can't wait for tomorrow morning to see if it's normal inside. This is double the size of what the girls have been laying to date... wonder if someone new started laying.

Here it is compared to a store-bought "large" egg. (Since I'm only getting 1 egg a day, I still have store bought ones in the fridge.)

Maybe a double-yolker?

Last year I got a large double yolker like that from one of my rhode island reds. I am still patiently waiting for eggs. I heard my one chicken squawking in the nest box area. OOOOOH, I think it's getting close!

Ok I remember seeing posts about straw and hay and where to find it how much it costs . I am looking for it for nesting boxes. and bedding for pigs which is better? And where around enfield do I find it. thanks

Greetings, I was contacted last night by a friend asking if I had any poultry for sale. I don't however I said that I would inquire here. She would like anything from 3-8 birds, she will take up to 2 years old. Drop me a note and I'll check this evening. TY
