THanks Coopchick...It's been a looooooong time coming! Who knew it was possible for a 4 year degree to take 11 years to get???
It doesn't matter how long it took but that you stuck with it!!!

When I worked at the school, I used to tell the kids the same thing. Also to not stress out if their college career was longer than they expected. It took my husband 9 years to get his degree. His parents paid for the first 2 years but when they realized he wasn't taking it seriously, they said he was on his own. He was fortunate enough to have 2 bosses (one was his father) that allowed him to take time off during the day for classes then make up his work. Sometimes he could only take 1 or 2 classes a semester. When he told his mother & I that he wasn't going to march in the graduation ceremony, we said "OH YES, YOU ARE!!" So we had our son in March and DH graduated in May. Best part--he graduated debt free!!!!

Mainechick I graduated last May! I started college in1999! So, it took me 14 years to graduate. What college did you attend? I went to uma and various ums colleges plus temple and penn state. lol. I got my degree in Information & library sciences. I'm glad to be done! I am thinking of grad school, got accepted to a program at UMO. I think I should have gone to school for something agricultural though!

I started at UMF, took time off, then went back to UMA- I am graduating through UMA, but completed a partnership program through UMM- thank goodness I never needed to travel to Machias for this! Lots of polycom classes...

I considered something environmental or agricultural when I took my break, but then I realized I was horrible at science, and I did in fact want to teach, just not general education :)

I slowly drifted from bio major to art major in college, but it was 7 years after I graduated when I finally got a teaching certificate. I was commuting and working by then, so it took a long time. I like teaching, even though some of my students are wild.

Maybe because I didn't have kids, they all look like young adults to me. I am always surprised by their questions. Yesterday's surprising question: what is a brick?

Maine Chick: Congratulations on your graduation. I was a non traditional student, getting my AAS while my kids were in Jr. high, entering high school. To any one who is contemplating going back to school: It's never too late. Time marches on, no matter what we are doing, so it's always wise to pursue your dreams while marching.

Chicken related: I (think) that some of my non-layer's combs are starting to ever so slightly redden back up!

What's an aas?

My birds are starting to get loud when they lay! Woke up to not just cockadoodle soo but also a chorus of bwak bwak bwak! Hope this means more eggs! They have been averaging about two small eggs a day. I want more to sell to ppl and bigger! How much do some of u charge for a dozen? Last year I charged 3.50 a dz. seems most ppl only charge 2! With all the time we invest & $$$ I think ppl should charge more. If you go to natural living center and get the free range organic eggs I think they are 4 a dz. my eggs aren't organic though. The feed is too much!

Sometimes I wish I had stuck to teaching...The second time I went to university I was a concurrent art history/education major...thennnnn I switched to Urban Studies - which is sociology mixed with geography and anthropology.

My first degree is in illustration. It has been an odd path. One day I would love to do grad school. I dream of a masters in planning but I do not think it would be too practical for me. I also eye a masters in social work or public policy.... one dayyyyyy....

I am happy the bitter cold broke. I was able to give the chickens the option of going out today - thought i do not think any of them took me up on it!

Mom is here and copious amount of chocolate will be consumed this week! wooohooo

Annnnnd this is not chicken related but it is full of cute:

We had to get Etta boots because her poor pads crack and bleed without. It was hilarity when we first put them on!
