Goats have stayed put for two days in a row.

. Hopefully this weekends above freezing temperatures will help melt some of the snow in their pen.

Anyone else ever order birds and then forget what they ordered? While at Longhorn this past weekend the owner said that I was on his list to call since he had forgotten that for the two weeks before Easter ducks he could not order specific duck breeds from Cackle so my order would be delayed. For the life of me I could not remember ordering any ducks. Chicks yes. Due in the end of this month. Poults. Yes for the end of April. But ducklings? Nope. So when I got home I checked my notes to see what I had ordered. Sure enough. Along with the turkeys I had also ordered 5 Welsh Harlequin ducklings.

Not that it matters to me when they actually come in so the delay would not matter. And since I had them on the list for a couple weeks after Easter my order probably went through with no issues anyway. And the owner did tell me he put the turkey order in twice since he has learned from past experience that there are no guarantees that poults will be ready to be shipped the first couple of dates he gets birds shipped.

yes, they are kid friendly as long as the parents watch over them. there are animals that might peck or bite (each swap is different and different animals are each one- you never know what you may see) and children need to know not to stick fingers where they don't belong. children should be watched carefully by parents and running around discouraged, after all, these are in the parking lots with moving traffic and they could get run over if they are not seen.

@CoopChick719 That's hilarious! !!!

@Widget I agree anything over 80 is too hot!!!! I don't mind the cold at all. But I do feel bad for the chickens and dogs. But am looking forward to spring :)

Happened to be in Waterville today and swung into TSC. ..all set up for chicks

was trying to resist the urge...luckily none yet!!! I have seen some fertile eggs in the ones we have used. Maybe I will treat with front line and set some eggs since we can't eat them???

******* chickens ate more eggs yesterday. Only was able to collect three total. Going by the daily average I was getting, I figure they ate six or seven of them. Time to get the game camera set up, and start marking birds to see who the offenders are.
