Hi Jazor, My silkie lays a small tannish egg.I'd like to think it's a silkie, but it seems too big--and I would have expected a blue egg from her.
I know, dowgirl71! I went to Augusta TSC on Saturday and saw the brooders & lights. I said to one of the salespeople, "Oh no, you have chicks!" He said, "Nope, next week."I know, I have to stay away from Bangor TSC, because there MAY be little "fuzzy butts" there. Went there yesterday & the signs were up & brooders were ALMOST ready.
Congrats suzMEchicks! We might have a baby today-certainly by tomorrow. But the human kind. Granddaughter #5 on her way.
Will this be your 5th granddaughter from one family, or are they spread between families? I hope you don't have to wait too long!Looks like shes taking her time!
Are swaps generally kid-friendly? Well-behaved, calm children, of coursehard to believe with this weather, the swaps have started . the first one for Augusta is March 29th. fingers crossed it warms up! I have plenty to sell I just need to figure who.
I will be sure and hold you to that. Just wait until July when you're typing up that complaint about the heat and how you can't keep your chickens cool enough...I'll be ready to quote this post to you!Someone remind me to never complain about the heat this summer......
