My First Hatch-A-Long-- Herb Theme (first hatch EVER)

Day 6-- I could see an embryo in every single black copper marans egg! Very hard to see, but they're there.

The downside of today-- my 3 year old got too excited and snatched an egg, and accidentally dropped it on our bath mat. #11, Parsley, now has a displaced air cell and I'm not sure that it'll survive. I put it back in the incubator in a little hammock so the blunt end is upright, but there isn't much more I can do.

Still, we have 14 out of 15 eggs that are right on track!

Happy Day 7! Our herb babies are still hanging in there. 25% humidity this morning, I bumped it up to mid 30s so I don't fry the silkies.

Parsley is being hand-turned in her little egg carton bra. Her air cell is still displaced (of course), but I could swear that I still see an embryo and movement just above the air cell. Very hard to tell in a BCM. I do still see vasculature.

For the bcm eggs, sometimes if you take a picture and edit it to greyscale it makes veins easier to see

Real! When I hatched chicks in 2024, I would just sit and watch for several minutes at a time even though it was only a few days into incubation
