This weekend I was throwing some extra food their way on the deck...I had 2 try to sneak btw my legs and get into the house!!!! With an eager dog behind me trying to get to them!!! If you heard girlie screams Sat that was me lol!!!

Snowing here right now :'( BUT have broccoli and eggplant sprouting ... YAY!!!

Hit the jackpot today. Got three eggs from the girls.

And I am starting to see things appear, such as two water buckets and parts of the driveway, that were buried in the snow.

Of course now it is sleeting/snowing out but the forecast only calls for 1-2 inches of annoying stuff here. What we are expected to get Saturday is still up in the air. Hopefully this bitterly cold winter will mean fewer ticks around this year and on the plus side it is holding the biting insects at bay. Great for my hypersensitive to cullicoids horse. No no-see-ums around means the fewer days he has to be on steroids to control the itching.

@Widget same here on the findings. ..lol
Looks like we are 3-5...but 5-7 where I work. Sat just found out about the snow...had family due up for the kids bday party, that we have rescheduled twice now...called to cancel again...don't want them driving 2 1/2yrs in crummy weather :(

Wow. Where are they coming from if it takes 2.5 years to get there?

Sorry could not resist.

I had the farrier scheduled for Saturday but had to reschedule. Even a few snow flurries will mean extra hours at the airport that day making sure planes get off the ground safely. Well at least the planes will be free of contaminates that Mother Nature provides. Getting off the ground is the job of the flight crew.

lol!!!! They would never visit then!!! Hahaha

I looked up your reference to having veins. How exciting! I'm living through you guys cause I can't have more chickens. Maybe someday when I retire to my dream farm on 200 acres!
BTW I thought we were getting a dusting of snow. Well it's snowing like crazy and we already have 4 inches. It's getting hard to be optimistic. To say the least.

I remember one year when we had 2 feet of flurries... This is the winter that never ends. Someone on an other site posted a similar statement that today is January 79th. I let the girls out for a bit of a leg stretch yesterday. They didn't waste any time following the foot path around from the back to the front of the house. One of them also felt entitled to come up onto the deck... first time that's happened, and I'm not too pleased about it. That means i'll be building an other gate. They went to bed last night with their crops stuffed... I'm not sure what they stuffed them with... unless it was mud!

LG same with mine! I let them out and they were out all day. Had gone around the house to the front. There's a part that used to be lawn that they have scratched up into a muddy mess. They had mud on there legs and beaks. I was watching afternoon TV and the were all up at the sliders pecking at the door. I told my husband that means we have to make a gate as they proceeded to poop on the porch. Easy to scrape off when its frozen
