Maine

We found out the squirrel we caught last week wasn't the one we were after. The one we want had a big white patch on his butt and walked across the front yard this morning as bold as you iifplease. So trap is reset. Something is trying to get in the coop.lots of prints. This is one of the biggest and certainly the most aggressive squirrel we have ever encountered. Here we go again!

I think we might need a photo of the lap quilt with chickens on it.......

I'll get you a better one once I actually finish it. But it's the small orangy one on the right. It's called an "attic window" design and each window has a fussy cut chicken image behind it.

I will likely finish basting and quilting it this weekend if my sickness stays at an appropriate level and I'm conscious. The ER PA told me today to basically keep the Benadryl coming every 4 hours so that the olympic sized swimming pool behind my tympanic membrane in my right ear can try to drain. No amount of decongestants have budged it so now it's time to try to dry it up with antihistamines. Fun. I'm starting to enjoy not hearing anything, though. I'm much more productive at work.

They make a great stew, or noodle soup. Cleaned and skinned, soak them in salt water for several hours, then cook. I ate many when I was growing up. We were poor and Grandma was a good cook.

Oh nice! You are so talented. I've never tried quilting. I'd love to see a close up when finished. Bummer about the swimming pool in your ear. I've had some virus since late October, first bronchitis-like, then sinus infection-like, and now pretty much gone, but still there. I can't seem to clear that last bit of stuff out of my sinuses and lungs, but I'm hoping some time away from children will help. Most classes sound like an emphysema ward!
