Maine

Found a grill box. Making her a little chicken hospital. When I opened the door to let the other chickens out in their run she went out too. She is drinking but has the diarrhea. I don't think she's eating much. I will make her some scrambled eggs when my husband is done chicken proofing the box and we bring her in.

Thank you so much for all the advice. Hard when it's your first time having chickens. No matter how much you read you want to make the right choice and it's nice to get advice from someone else with experience.

I am already prepared for either her dying or having to cull her. Really don't want to where the other one got killed 2 weeks ago by the weasel. But I might as well try to save her and do what I can. I refuse to go to the vet. I have worked with farm animals for alot of years. You do what you can of it don't work then they die. Yes I love my chickens but not to spend hundreds of dollars trying to save one.

Agreed. I consider them to be the ultimate recycleable pet. They till the ground, dispose of weeds, make fertilizer, eradicate bugs, make breakfast, provide outdoor companionship and entertainment, and when the game is over, make a wonderful stew.

Has anyone ever experienced gape worm? Her symptoms seen to fit. Her wheezing seems to be gasping for air. And her nose and eyes are clear so I don't think it's a respiratory disease.
