Not gonna work every time but try comparing their feet and wings. 1 st couple days rooster's seem to have thicker feet and hens grow their wing feathers a little faster. Comparing to another chick of same breed or parents.

I swear my ISA Browns have lost their minds! Since they turned a year old they've done a complete 180 from how they were. They are jumping on each other's back like a rooster would so now some are losing feathers and have broken feathers just in front of their tails, they've decided to start plucking each other's feathers, laying soft shell eggs more often and the list goes on! And its all of them doing it to each other so i can just seperate one for it.My chickens are starting to look like they are neglected and they are beyond spoiled. On a good note they are still great with me just not with each other. Anyone ever have these problems?

How about something to protect their back like chicken saddles? And the eggs sound like calcium issue. Panting a lot from heat or stress reduces their calcium.

They have oyster shell that they eat alot of. I also know they aren't pulling to eat feathers cause their feed is 20% protein. I might have to get some saddles. Figured I would only need one if I had a rooster which I don't. I have the pick no more that I tried on one when they were younger and they loved it (go figure). They haven't been hot really. I think they might just be A-Holes. Lol I'm thinking about getting them some temp fencing for while I'm home and let them out to sort of free range in it in the grass. They've ate all grass in their run. But they get lots that I put in there and veggies. I am at a loss. They've always been so good for the most part till they turned one. I've regularly checked them for lice and mites day and night and have seen none. I dusted them awhile ago and then bought a spray yesterday. Sprayed them all today and their coop when I did another full clean out. Figured might as well hit every possible idea. Guess I will look into saddles. Thanks!

Coming down to it we get our chicks in a week got most the outside run done today and white washed the inside the other day
