Do they eat rats?

I've been worming my chickens. 100% success on the two flocks that sleep at normal height, but I failed on part of the GCM flock. Many sleep in the ceiling, and while I was able to grab a bunch during the day, they screamed and wrestled like no other bird. I was keeping a list of who I had finished, but so many look identical. I was not dedicated enough to catch every one in that large dusty coop and then set them outside, but most got done one way or another.

And when I wormed the Ameraucanas, I was terrified. Why? I went at night when everyone was docile, but I could hear the rats running through the leaves all over the place! I am slowly lining the floor with hardware cloth, but the ground is frozen on the edges now, so I quit for the season.

They do not eat rats, just lots of grain! We have jumbo rats here too. If someone started a rat terrier for hire gig, I suspect they'd do quite well here!

got about 4ft.-5ft. of snow so far with another ft.of heavy wet stuff coming tom.! shoveled roofs 2xs already. snowmobilers and skiers are happy!
