SCG, sharp shooter for hire!!!

My hatch is due Monday night. Not counting my chicks before they hatch. 18 dancers, and 3 that are too dark to tell. Had to turn the fan off b/c it was actually making the temp variation worse. Laying them down for hatch is going to make it more dicey to keep them all in the correct temp range. Shipped chicks due in next Fri.

Good luck on your hatch.

Bucka, I have a whole list of tools and supplies I need... will shoot mink for masonry supplies?

Unfortunately, our nuisance has gone into hiding. We don't know if it was a male of female, but read that the males travel long distances, supposedly returning to places they frequent about once a week or so.
We put new bait in the trap, but nothing so far.

The coop is secure now, so we may move chickens back after taking care of a few more details this weekend. The hens will be locked inside, since there fenced-in range area is in deep snow. I'm going to keep the trap right outside the coop in hopes the mink comes back.

In all seriousness, the last time I read the nuisance law, to shoot something killing your livestock it had to be shot by yourself or a family member that lived at the farm, or a farm employee.
Not a problem. You could be an employee for an hour or so, couldn't you?

Try tunafish.

Quick google search turned this up: Follow these guidelines when baiting your trap: Bloody chicken meat, chicken entrails, frogs, fresh fish and muskrat carcasses are great bait options to ensure minks come to investigate. For an added attractant, sparsely cover your bait with fur or feathers depending on what you're using.

Hey folks,
Just checking in. Trying to Get a Coop together. I have some wood for it already. Really need to get something better than the store bought piece of yuppie junk I have. It does look okay and it was a gift from my wife so I do need to use it. I plan on using it as a honeymoon suite in a larger goop. Got to have it Safe since I know I have Fox running around the area. Scrounging for wood now and hoping I can find a place for 2-4 roosters. Sadly don't have room or money to support that many extra Easter Egger and Black Australorp Roosters. Hoping TSC in Waterville has a swap soon maybe I can get a few hens or ducks in trade.
