Hmm, eggs are nice but their job is to protect my two hens and tick control. Purple is my favorite color but quality job performance is more important. What is your recommendation? is one louder than the other?

Sorry for the delayed response. Our flock and coop was destroyed by a fisher so i will have to hold off on a guinea until the coop is rebuilt and fortified.

Looks like my Nellie girl finally had the needed attitude readjustment. I let her out of the tractor today b/c it threatened to rain. She's been with the rest of the flock, just as noisy as ever. She went into the coop and looked around. I'd stolen the fake eggs out of her favorite nest. She wasn't pleased with the amenities, and went back out to join her flock. Hoping the broody busting has done it's job for long term solution.

do you have any heat sinks in it? they can help to stabilize it and reduce fluctuations a great deal

I packed some towels around mine and kept it in a cardboard box for the first 2 weeks to keep temp stable.

Had one of the 7 I hatched die at day 2. Rest are doing very well. Much more energetic than the ones I bought online and at TSC. OF the 6 2 have shorter tails than the other 4. I'm hoping that means there are 4 hens. Although I know it's usually not until later you can tell that.

heat sinks go inside the incubator to help 'hold' the heat -like rocks, or sealed jars or bottles

Well hard work all morning but got my small flock of 17 chickens cleared and NPIP certified. I really wish I could have gotten them done earlier where I could show them but I will be a ble to next year. Also means I can now sell chicks, and hatching eggs with a clear conscious. Meant to keep the chickens up but forgot to close the coop door last night so Had to chase them around for the testing.
