haven't sold anything really. I am making a new breeding pen this year and will have them sorted. I have b/b/s and wh/bw. Am going to be working on some projects too. Had a mottled project(was someone elses project) but had a coyote take my only hens last year, unfortunately.

I love that people are re-introducing.

If anyone out there is hatching Favorelles I'd love a male chick to raise as a rooster for my hens.

I have 2 sweet blue wheaten ameraucana roos that were hatched last year that I don't need, they are getting picked on by the bigger black ameraucana they hatched with. My dominant roo that free ranges is a blue wheaten so I don't need another....if anyone is interested they are free to a good home....I also have 3 russian orloff roos that need to go, they are big and are missing their beards cuz they are picking on each other and I don't have the room to separate. I was going to keep a trio but I don't like the personality of the boys so I am only keeping my girls. Oh, and I have a silver lakenvelder roo that the pullet didn't make it through the winter(long story) that also needs a home. If anyone wants anything but the ameraucana to eat I am ok with that...just don't tell me. Can't stand to see the ameraucana boys eaten, they are such good boys...

For Favorales Poultry Run Farm is one direction I'd go to. I do have a Scooter jr. Bantam Cochin and a splash Standard Cochin rooster that I'd love to re-home.
FmrsDgtr08 raising broilers is an experience. I say that favorably, raising our own meat is a very healthy. I have had a lot of blood work to prove that it the changes are positive, and I know what the birds have eaten and how they have been treated.

Anyone near central Maine have some Fertilized Speckled Sussex eggs I could buy? I think they are beautiful. I really don't want to get shipped eggs. Please PM me. Thanks!

She sent 15 Buff Orpington eggs to me in February and I had 12 hatch. In March she sent 16 EE eggs and I had 12 hatch. I have never had such a success rate with any eggs let alone shipped ones. With the way she packs her eggs I think they could survive anything. And the chicks that hatched are thriving.

Came home today to find that one of the Midget White turkey eggs in the incubator had pipped.

Two days early but the little bugger seems determined to come out of the shell. Hopefully the others will get the hint and start hatching too.

Have you looked on Uncle Henry's? There are two different people selling speckled sussex chicks, perhaps they may sell fertile eggs.

Got my Speckled Sussex hens (Peep and Quack, my 4 year old boy named them) last Friday. They are 8 days old today. We introduced them to our flock of 12 that are 5 weeks old. The flock of 12 was pecking and dragging the 2 babies

so I separated them. Is this normal behavior or am I over reacting? I plan to slowly reintroduce them in small steps. And update on the coop, the nesting boxes are done, a little smaller than I expected but I was told they will be fine, they came out to be 12"T (tapered to 10" in the back) x 12"D x 10"W. So I hope they are big enough. Now I'm working on the finishing touches, paint, critter proofing and trim. I want to have it 100 % done before I move the flock in.

that is normal behavor for young chicks . They will change their behavor in just acouple of weeks . good move to take them out for now . You should beable to place everyone back together in a couple of weeks .
