Of course if it snows or the wind chill is impossible, all bets are off.

I have lots of bantam cochins and d'Uccles that I'm sorting out for swaps, so I'm anxous to get the season GOING!!!!!

Tammy, are you going to post a "Wilton Thread" in the Chickenstock Thread here??

Okay I really thought that I would be able to resist ordering anything from one of my local feed stores this year. Yeah right. I ordered some turkey poults with some chicks added to round out the order from Cackle way back in January. Plus I placed a duck order with Holdderead's at the end of December. Yet I still found myself putting in an order for more chicks and ducks while at the feed store yesterday. The ducks I can justify since I was looking for some Muscovies and they just happened to be on the list. The chicks well what can I say I am weak and need intervention. Either that or I just want to have an excuse to attend a Chickenstock or two with any extras that I don't want to keep.

This is NCR (Non Chicken Related). I am planning on repainting my living room/kitchen, hallway and bedroom this year. I've been in my house for 7 years and getting a bit bored with the color scheme. But I am really not color coordinated.
The living room/kitchen area is open concept with a cathedral ceiling. Currently the walls on one are a bland light greenish color. The other side of the room the walls are white. This side goes into the hallway that is also white. I am leaning towards a brighter green for all the LR/K walls and a yellow for the hallway. Or vice versa. But I don't know if that combo will even work. I just want to brighten everything up.
The bedroom is also greenish with almost a white sponge pattern. The green is brighter than the LR. It is really cool looking but I am a bit tired of it. Not sure what color I am thinking about for that room.
I do know that I don't like reds or pinks so they are out. Other than that I would welcome suggestions.
Also I want to paint the front door. It is currently white but it could use a brighter color. The house is gray so I need something to go with that as long as it isn't red.

I played around on Sherwin Wiliams' website a lot trying to find the right colors. There's an uploader tool where you can take a picture of a room and then play with the color in it. The color's off a bit, but gives you a general idea of how something looks.

I can't help you with the doors, I played around for days and finally settled on red. :)

I can't help you so much on color but i used a "sand" paint. I did my hallway purple and it's high parts of the sand are darker purple while the low parts are light purple/pink. (they also have browns, golds, I'm sure other colors). it is the coolest looking. we did white wainscotting on the lower half so it wasn't too much purple. the floor has bits of pink so it so it picks it up from the wall. ou might take a look at some other the new texture paints.

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I might say hello.
The wife and I had plans to expand our coop. We want to get into
a few fancy breeds. This past weekend we found a smoking deal
on some 4 day old chicks. We got a salmon favorelle for $3.00
2 silver laced wyandottes at $2.00 and a black copper maran for $4.00.
I picked up 2 rhode island reds (wanted some last year and never got them)
and now she has bought an incubator.

And to go with the incubator she
ordered some frizzle, blue laced red wyandottes and some other eggs.
We have 6 of our own eggs set now. Also we reduced our flock a bit to
make room for the new baby chicks we have. The coop expansion is
going to be major. Currently the coop is 6 feet by 5 feet and when I'm
done it will be 6 feet by 11 feet.

Our house has mostly off-whites, but I played around with colors at our camp. Kitchen is peach, and it was too bright, so I took a feather duster and made a feathery lavender pattern on that, and then did pale blue over that. I liked it, so at home in the kitchen I did pink, and used a stipple brush on top with purple, and then if you stipple white over the whole thing, everything becomes muted (and the food on the wall doesn't show :D )! Just start trying things out! My door is a dusty rose type color, but I kind of want orange. Good luck!
