And on another note, last night as husband was puting up a piece of the new enclosure he said to me "Anna, I think your chicken pens are getting a little bit too big"

To which I laughed and said "Thats funny, cause I was just looking at all the extra space we have to put more up!"

Yeah hair extensions are expensive, but really in style but I have a couple people looking for some roosters and so anybody with any kind of rooster doesnt matter what, or hens that they just want to get rid of, I can take them!

Klf- Thank you! Someday I will understand all the chicken colors!!

Tay- The other day my daughters friend, who is in 4th grade, was over and she had feathers in her hair. She told me her mom ppaid $40 for them!!!!!!! They werent even anything super exotic and fancy! I swear they were barred rock feathers!!!!!

I told her next time, come by here and I will do it for $20

geez, where were you a few days ago? we just culled all the extra roos, noise complaints. unfortunately we just discard which I hate but hate posting on craigslist as I think the last guy that took the extras was shady(feel better knowing they were done humanely). we will have a few more, will keep you in mind when the time comes.....

yup! that's the nice thing about it. something about the size of the dot on the head when they hatch. I don't think I have it completely figured out but I'm getting there.
I forgot with Easter coming up and all things Egg related. I just listed one of my emu eggs that I carved on eb*y. has a baby zebra on it but I have others for sale if anyone is interested. to see my eggs, see my facebook page stained glass by bobbi.

hmm, have contemplated putting my cuckoo marans hen in with the orps myself, but just have too many other things goin on right now....

cool project though, I drive myself crazy, you should see all my project mapping....I have a file for it in my computer, was initially only for ameraucana but since I got into orps it has gotten a whole lot crazier. I am still waiting to work on gold lakenvelder pattern ameraucana....all these ideas and not enough room...

OK, I am attempting to share some pics with you all....This one is the new chicken pen and coops. The pen is just over 20x20, and despite being angry at first that I had to pen them, I am pretty pleased with it so far. The board is covering the hole where my door will be. The coop in the back is for the incoming meaties and still needs some finishing touches but I am pretty proud to say that we didnt buy a thing to make that coop. My husband made it entirely from repurposed materials down to the very last nail! The main coop is going to be painted in a couple of weeks, I was thinking of making it dark brown with a white trim, what do you all think?
And now for a couple of the chickens! Pete, or PETER! when hes in trouble.
These are our 2 hens, Kamikaze and The Other One.
Hawk, our rooster who doesnt work for a living.
and RePete, our accidental bantam of some kind that follows Pete everywhere. and I couldnt forget Calypso, the guardian Newfie
