Maine

I have decided to sell most of my chickens, and get into some different breeds, etc. So what I have for sale right now are these!

Mille Fleur bantam Cochin Hen $15.00

Silver Spangled Hamburg Standard Hen (14 months old) $20.00

Black Australorp Standard Hen 1 year old! $15.00
I have some more for sale too so if you are interested please PM me! Also have lots of bunnies for sale!

When I called the code enforcement officer for my town to see if I could keep horses on my property he asked where I was going to keep them. I so wanted to tell him they would live in the basement.

I really like you!!!!

Annabanana- Also glad to hear you are well and back in a chicken-mindset. Quick recovery there. What kind of chicks? As for slipping eggs under her this is what I have tentatively learned: slip them in at night. They need to be about the same age or else she might come off the nest when the first ones hatch, essentially leaving the others to die.

If anyone is interested I am thinking about re-homing my two goats. One is a Nubian about 12 years old. The other is a Nigerian Dwarf who is around 7. They would need to go together. I acquired them about four years ago thanks to a friend going through a home foreclosure. I'm in no hurry and will be very picky as to where they go. They are fun to have around but if there is a family with kids or other goats I'm sure the girls would love more attention then they get here.

Both are females and easy keepers. Hannah is the Nubian and Trinket is the Dwarf. Both are friendly, chicken, duck and dog savvy. I will have to get scrapie tags for them before they can leave the property. And since I don't have a vehicle they can ride in then they would have to be picked up in Limington. Although I'm sure other motorists would love to see them riding around in the back of my Saturn.

Re-homing fee would be $150 for the two of them.

I can get pictures if anyone is interested. I don't happen to have any stored on this computer.

wow, glad to hear you are home. at ,least you have some sizzles to make you smile. get well soon.

What a crazy couple of days! I ended up in the hospital yesterday having my appendix removed, but came home to some extremely cute new little hatchlings!!! Which leads me to my question. I have my sizzle hen that was sitting on eggs. One hatched, but the others dont seem to be doing anything. Do you think I would have any luck switching her remaining eggs for the chickies that hatched in the bator?

Is there anyone that has any barred rocks for sale? I'm in the Waterville/Augusta area. I would travel an hour or so in any direction. Haven't been able to find any locally. Any tips would be great! Thanks.

I have 2 of them that are 1 years old. Not sure if you're looking for chicks or not, I'm 35 miles from Waterville. Organic fed, and free ranged. $30 takes them.

RT Farm Enterprises in East Winthrop just got chicks in they have some barred rocks. 395-8118
They also have some white turkeys, and golden comets.
They would be hatchery stock.
If you call or go please tell them Julie sent you.

Wow, glad you're okay! I've never tried slipping chicks under a broody, but know that others do it successfully. You'll want to be very watchful, in case she doesn't accept them.
I have done that many times and have had good luck, but you need to do it at night, pull out the eggs and sliip the babies under her, they will stay there becasue its dark and warm.Make sure you check early in the morning to see how things are going. If she is talking to them all will be fine.I check very often during the first day. They will be much happier with a mom and less work for you as you recover.
