I have a hatcher full of BCM's with 7 already hatched and one more trying to get out. These are pure BCM with the original line coming from Greenfire farm. Will be selling these probably at the Wilton swap and lewiston swap

Ok, will get them seperated tomorrow, I do have another rooster in the pen they are in now but I think this grey one keeps the grey hen for himself. That will give me time to make sure that only the grey gets her. she lays a green egg. She has ear muffs and beard with pea comb. He is identical to her except he has 5 toes.
sounds good Polly, keep me posted Thanks

OMG I just got invited to a Stevie Nicks concert!! my friend won tickets (but it's in NY this friday) if things weren't such a mess here, i'd go. i'm just to tickled to be asked, I hope she can go, she probably won't get another chance like this again.

sorry, I just had to share.

Stevie is old. Go before she dies.

the chicks sold as aracuna/ameraucana are more than likely Easter Eggers. The Hatcheries don't usually have pure ameraucanas.

You KNOW a hatchery DOES NOT have Araucanas. Period. Go to the Am thread and ask about for eggs etc. There are some really nice ones in there and a few breeders who are near enough if you had to travel.

A domesticated mallard drake showed up at my house this morning. Not sure if he was dumped at my pond or found his way there. Poor guy just wants to hang with my ducks and geese but they are terrified of him. I was able to catch him once and put him in with my 6 week old chickens. All was fine there until I left a gap in the fence and all the chickens got out. I tried to usher him into the coop so I could round up the chicks then he flew back to the pond. Hysteria ensued and has all day when he tries to get near everyone. Seems like a really sweet duck looking for some friends. Not even sure what I'd do with him now if I caught him again. The chicks continued escaping the fencing so I just removed it. They were ready to be ranging I guess. Ugh.

With some blue skies this evening we got busy moving chickens to drier ground. Sadly while moving the mini-movable-coop with the EE pullets in it one of the girls got her leg caught under it. You can tell it hurts and I'm worried about her, she will bear weight on it and when I feel it I can't feel anything broken so I really am just hoping it is bruised and she'll be fine in a few days. If we seriously injured her I will feel so incredibly guilty, I already feel sick about it. The coop was a bit stuck on a hump in the field and I pushed while DH pulled and it jumped just enough to catch her foot under the back. :(

pictures of the chicks they are 2 weeks old today. barred rocks and rhode island reds pullets. growing fast.

You've got some cuties there blueseal!

Does anyone know where I might find some Orpingtons in anything other than buff? I absolutely don't want more chicks, they'd have to be coop ready. I would LOVE some splash if anyone around here has them. I'd love to get another orp pullet to go in the flock.
