Maine

I am so the major downer of this thread right now- Lost Ginger the buff orp two days ago (Mareks maybe?), and found Cyrus the rooster dead on the floor of the coop this am- pretty unexpected- he was acting a little funny yesterday- hiding a lot, but still very sudden. Everyone else is healthy and alert- and someone new is laying eggs too- so lets hope everyone stays on the good path!

Wow. So sorry to hear this. :(
I hope everyone else continues to be healthy!

My sick chicken has not really improved. Yesterday was a good day, with attempts to stand and take steps. Today she is gasping for air a lot. I may try an antibiotic, even though I have no idea if it is a respiratory infection. I'm not sure what else to do.

still have 5 more hours if anyone want to put in a sealed bid on this pendant, just pm me with the amount, I will put it in an envelope and bring your bid to the auction, or show up at the auction if you can make it and you can bid on it at the live auction (that would be even better) ****** just one change on this pendant, the bale is on the rounded end not the square end as in the picture.*********************
I just made a wine tote bag out of a nylon feed bag, pretty cute. see, yet another use for those feedbags.

this weekend is the central maine bird fanciers annual christmas auction (i've probably already told you all that), anyway, I am offering up a diachromic pendant that I have made. it is almost finished, just need to fire it one more time and then add the bale to hang it from.
I know not everyone can make it to the auction (although we would love to have you come join us)
I am taking sealed bids on it for the auction to be opened at the bidding for those that can't attend. I will pay for shipping to the winning bidder if they are not present or we can't get it to you via another club member.
I will take paypal from the winning bidder or a check made out to the club .
I will add the picture later since it's not liking me right now.
I can take bids by pm or email up until saturday 8:00pm that I will seal and bring to the auction- auction is at 1:00 on sunday at the evening star grange hall in washington (on the bill luce rd)
check back here for pictures and please post if you are sending me a bid so i can be looking for it.
size is a bit smaller then a quarter (that is also in the picture for size comparison)

Well I finally found a new (used) truck.

.

Hated to trade in my Saturn but I really needed the versatility of a truck. So now I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500. Maroon. 4WD. Just over 100,000 miles. Just needs some fender guards that the dealer will install as soon as they come in and it will be good to go. I picked it up today and as soon as I left the lot went for a hay run. Confused the clerk since he is so used to my normal five bale order and having it put in the Saturn.

Next on the list is to replace the radio with one that will play my iPod. At least WHOM is already playing Christmas music so I can deal until I can use the iPod again. And yes I do enjoy Christmas music yet I am not all religious. What other time of year do you get to blast Dominic the Donkey on the radio.

it wild bird food, I think it's called favorite friend. (yeah, I snuck over to your house ad snapped this picture to see if you would notice, lol)

and widget, that's great news!! I'm thinking I need a bit bigger vehicle too, but not looking forward to another payment.
Those are nice. What brand of food is that, I like the blue bag.

PS Your view out your window looks exactly like mine. I did a double take, then saw your porch. Wish I had a porch.

Actually got quite a bit accomplished today. Up at 330. Worked from 5-9. Stopped at the meat market to get some hamburger, bacon, stew beef and some smoked bbq pulled pork. Then to the grocery store for some bread and other stuff. Came home and finally cleaned and put away the juvenile brooder that is in the basement. So now I am ready for new chicks in the spring.

Then I cleaned the cobwebs from the basement and replaced the light bulb that had burned out down there earlier this week. After that I replaced the tarps on the outdoor chicken run. From there I cleaned the yard where hay has collected from all the bales I go through. Hard to believe how much baling twine there was hidden for the snow blower to grab. Then I put the stakes in the ground to mark the walkway for when it snows. I still had some time left before the farrier was due so I cleaned out my Saturn. By that point the farrier was here to trim the hooves of two of the horses. After the horses were done I turned the Saturn in for the new truck and headed to the feed store for some hay. Add the normal feeding chores for the animals and I can honestly say I am a bit tired now.

I will say the pulled pork was delicious.

Just the right amount of smokiness. Great flavor.

Now to watch a few more Castle episodes (season 4) and try not to fall asleep before 7.

Widget- sounds like a busy day! pulled pork sounds awesome. I LOVE a good bbq pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. yum....

Chickens invaded the house today! I left the door open when I was bringing in wood and this is what happened...
- from the left: Racing Stripe, Baby, Raspberry, and Speckle. Fluff head is checking out the dogs water dish...
