Major Mortality rate what could be wrong with my flock? HELP PLEASE

I appreciate it is a long thread, but in recent posts the OP said she had about 50 or more chickens left, and just a 6 posts ago stated that if the state didnt' call her she would call them tomorrow.

This is only a suggestion-- I would call in the morning to see if there are results. If there aren't any then ask when they will. If you wait until 4 chances are they will either be gone or you will have to wait until Monday to find out. This way they would have time to either find them or possibly get them.

The squeaky wheel sometimes wins out.

About 5 years ago i was haveing the same problem with my flock. I was burning 2to5 dead chickens everyday. So i corantined them seperately healthy chickens i left in the in the main chicken house. The sickly ones in a seperate shed,leantoo. When i saw one of the healthy ones looking sickly and starting to make a gurgling sound i took it and put it with the sickly ones in the seperate shed.so i bought some teramycine-(not to sure on the spelling of that). I mixed it with their water and it helped but they were still dieing just at a slower rate. It seemed there was no end in sight and it was only a matter of time before all of them would die. Then i saw an old man saleing chickens at wal-mart. I told him about my situation and he told me i was on the right track with the teramycine and told me to go to ACE hardware and get some herbal cream or sabb with menthol in it kinda like vicks vapor rub only an herbal version because in order to be able to drink enough of the teramycine to heal they had to be able to breath somewhat good so i did. For the life of me i can't remember the name of it. It was a white plastic container about the size of a 1/2 to 3/4 measureing cup with a light green label. Though i would think anything like it would also work as long as its herbal and with menthol in it to help open up their airways a little. He told me to rub all my birds down with it. so i rubbed it on each and every bird. I rubbed it on thick on their breast,neck,and under their wings it was a long process but I was willing to try anything. After I did this I never lost another chicken, they were all simply cured and cured in 1 to 2 days and i could tell the difference just overnight. I could'nt believe my eyes it was litterally like a miracle. One old hen we had called (momma) was one of our favorites and before i applied the sabb my wife went to check on them and came back to the house with tears rolling down her face and said "honey, old momma's as good as dead. She was pretty much right but i applied the sabb anyway. The very next morning when we got up she went out to check on them again. This time she came back looking kinda confused though excited cause old momma was litterally healed and back to the old momma she was before the illness. Melissa, I just don't know what to say. My sister just had surgery for uteran cancer. They were able to remove it all. But the thought of losing my sister was heart wrenching. I am so sorry for your struggle and I hope your sister and you get to see each other and spend quality time together. That's what I am praying for. God bless.
