I feel your pain Debi.. I know if my dogs got the chance they would kill my birds also. Actually my female DID get the chance...she thought it was great fun to chase them and make them squack and grab their feet and rip out their tail and wing feathers....
None died thankfully..but if we wernt there..there would have been dead birds. I was SO mad at her...and she knew it too....the next day i took her outside..and put a prong collar on her...i let my birds out and when she went to go after them i yanked it good and hard...she dropped down. then..i put them..one at a time in front of her face (while making her lay down..) and i told her EASY! No bite!..(because she knows what i mean when i say those words....).. and i just kept on doing it...And if she so much as looked at the birds i yanked the collar and corrected her... now..i can have her in the yard with me while the birds are out....but if she got out there alone...shes go after them again..i just know it.. Shes a rascal!
My grandpa swore by tying the dead birds around the dogs neck till they basically rot.. I doubt i could do that..but..people swear it worked for them..and some say it dosent work..so..
Good luck!
Now tell me..does this look like a cold blooded chicken killer to you?
