Arrived at the polling place at 6am. There was already a line. One hour exactly! Got to see neighbors and chat. Enjoyable hour.

We got up extra early this morning(beat the rooster!)
Went to the commuter rail station, where they had our ward vote this year. Which was convenient since I drop my dh off there daily anyway.
There was some confusion. There was one long line that they(the people in charge) then decided to try and split up unto "areas" Yeah.. that went well Great when the person they have yelling instructions has an oxygen tank. I mean really. Give the poor guy a break.

I then got yelled at by another lady for going where that same oxygen totting man told me to go. I told her I went where I was told to go and she actually yelled at me "NO ONE TOLD YOU THAT!" So, being the immensely grump person I am when I am freaking RIGHT. I yelled back at her "YES. SOMEONE DID! MAYBE YOU SHOULD KEEP A BETTER EYE ON YOUR PEOPLE AND GET IT RIGHT" For which I got a round of applause from the other people that had been told the same thing and were just as confused as to why they were being told by the "check out" guys that they couldnt find their names. Of course my dh was watching this rolling his eyes at the entire thing. He tells me all the time that if there is a "problem" with a system I will be the one to find it and let everyone know it's there.

I think for the next election I might just volunteer my time. At 40 something I will be by far the youngest person there running the show.

It was great to see the place filling up even more when we were leaving. I got caught up with some friends I havent seen in MONTHS and managed to piss off election officials. All in one short trip.

We went very early, we were # 3 and 4 in line,but there was a long line before we got finished..my DW only missed 30 minutes work, which she will take PTO for..It was nice we could share the time..Then my DD called and said she had voted for the same guy as us..I am proud of her for taking the time to do this..she is 35 and it's her first vote..

I am ashamed to say I am 30 and this is my first time voting. I remember the last election and I was on pins and needles waiting to see who won. I swore I would get registered to vote for the next election. I will be heading to town in a bit to cast my first vote!! YAY!!

I voted by absentee ballot a couple weeks ago. Here in WA most of the State votes this way. I think Oregon is all absentee ballots.

I voted last week, which was a breeze. There was no line at all. I'm glad that I did since it's raining this morning.

I'm glad someone started this thread. It's really good to see folks out and casting their votes. I hope it goes well for you all and that you can stick it out if the lines are long. Your vote matters!

Our polling place is on the edge of our neighborhood, so our whole community walks to the church to vote. It's great to see everyone coming out in full force. Good time to catch up with friends and neighbors...even the republicans!!
