Update on feeder:
Well so far no waste of feed like before. The only thing different beside the hot glue around the PVC was to put the feeder on two 4x4's with 2 2x4's over that so the feeder is not as low as it was and not as high as it was on the cinder blocks laid on their side. Now if it holds up under heavy rain we're good to go.
Let me know if that works. The PVC caps are not cheap.Glad to hear you have it just right! Silly chickens, I would measure the height if you haven't already, just to have it be documented somewhere.
I am brainstorming caps for my feeders as we have a bad mouse problem. I am thinking of putting a Dixie drink cup (thing those red cups) in each of the holes at night. Right now I am pulling the 5 gallon bucket up off the ground at night. No solution yet for the 15 gallon feeder. The cups are next to try....will update if they work.
