Make your own - No waste - 5 gallon (25# feed) bucket feeder for about $3

Pics
Made one today. The ducks caught on first then the chicks. Curious to see how it pans out in the next couple days. I used 1 1/2"in elbow instead. Its snug enough to where the elbow cannot be turned by chickens, but I can. By turning it slightly I can adjust the height if the feed in the elbow.

You can put 3 of these elbows around the bucket............ So "serves 3" at a time. :)

And if you have 20 birds you can make a few buckets if you feel they all need to eat at the same second.

My 5 chickens are doing fine sharing the one hole. I watch them sometimes on the wifi cam in the coop and have never seen any fights.

I wouldn't use this for chicks, but only for 18 weeks and older.

My team (all named after 49ers) are too young for this bucket now (2 weeks) but I'm itching to make this now!

They'll be big enough before you know it.

We just took this idea and ran with it for our significantly larger flock. I doubt we will ever fill the barrel up all the way, since feed dust will gather in the bottom, but I'm very excited to have a bulk feeder for $40ish and a free barrel.
