Making an egg container

Has anyone ever tried covering a paper egg carton in resin to make a permanent egg container? Any success?

Are you trying to do this for an art project, or for a sturdy egg carrier? They do make hard plastic egg carriers.

I want to make something like those ceramic egg containers for the fridge. But cheap. I like the look of the paper crates like you get eggs in bulk. But something more permanent.

Could you cut one of those egg cartons to size (wherever you want it to be in your fridge) and coat it in resin or something?

That may some researching though, I'm not sure what can be used for food stuff

Many refrigerator brands sell such a container just for eggs.
