making cloth reusable menstrual pads

Well, if it helps, I never heard about it until a few years ago. This was not something that was ever talked about in my house, and I was the youngest daughter. so I just did what my mom and sis did. Never questioned it. Never really thought about what people did in the old days. But, I have to say, I will NEVER go back to sposies. Even being frugal, which I am, and even being concerned aobut our foot print here on eath, which I am, the fact that my period is lighter, shorter, with no cramping and irritation, had me sold from the first time I used them.

I know I haven't used a disposable one in over a year. I figure you actually may need 2 or 3 sets to be able to make it through the whole month if you didn't wash them until the end. in comparison to a package or 2 every month for a year, let alone a few years that these will last, these are the better deal by far.

only if you don't get obsessed with them and have to have one in every style, color, and material from every maker!

That's a thought. I didn't think about that. I need to start a list of how many I want, the style and the color.

I make aprons for extra cash and have found AWESOME chicken fabric on Ebay....just use plain old flannel on one side and the regular cotton on the other. Can you do that? It is hard to tell the material you use when you cant touch them you know.

The pads in here are lovely! A friend remembered I wanted to go more green as part of my New Year Resolution so for Christmas she bought me a started kit of Lunapads. I am actually really excited to use them. My mini has purple and green swirls and my long has cupcakes!
